Description
I H8 Camera is the improvisation collective of ‘Master of Ceremonies’ Rudy Trouvé who, for more than 15 years now, has been leading an ever-changing line-up of absolute top-notch musicians through an insane adventure across rock, jazz, folk, krautrock, no wave, post-punk…boundless improvisation starting from a few brief pointers… innovative, contrary, abrasive and often very brilliant.
The paths of I H8 camera and Roland Van Campenhout crossed several times and making an album together seemed the logical next step. Free spirits improvised for two days (each day in a different line-up) in Joris Caluwaerts’ Finster studio. From this, 10 pearls of songs were distilled that showcase both the versatility of the band and Roland in all their variety and glory. Roland’s very personal lyrics can be understood as unadulterated storytelling about a particularly rich and crazy life as one of Belgium’s most legendary musicians.
‘Two Days is August’ is a sultry, intense and beautiful record that needs to be heard.
Also playing on the album: Teuk Henri, Elko Blijweert, Hannes D’Hoine, Jeroen Stevens, Alain Rylant, Bjorn Eriksson, Tomas De Smet, Wouter Van Belle, Aarich Jespers, Buni Lenski, Sigrid Van Rosendaal, Gert Wyninckx.
