“Possessed of the welcoming whiff of Captain Beefheart in so much as that same quirky slink though here fried, wired and mutated by a cool monochrome blissing of schizoid electro shocks that serve to usher in an edgy shadow playing disconnection.” – Losing Today

The Vital Parts expo saw the light after a simple request from musical and graphic centipede Kloot Per W to collaborate with Rudy Trouvé and Hugo Tanghe.
Per W had been a fan of Rudy’s work for years and thought it was time to do something together and create something unique in this way. A quick yes and collaboration were the result.

Per W likes to work with like-minded people. Despite the fact that he almost went into history as an alien, the cooperation ensures a predominantly positive result. This applies to both the musical and the graphic field.
For his part, Trouvé has been aware of the “Kloot” phenomenon since his early teens. He describes their collaboration as so natural that it can almost be described as “organic”.

For this collaboration, Rudy came up with the idea to make animation loops together. In the early 1970s, long before the digital age, Per W actually studied animation at RITCS.

The animations and music are connected to each other because they are going to make music on the beats that are under the animation loops. This was definitely Rudy’s idea. Per W signed four loops and together they have put together one more.

The music is separate from the individual works and in the case of Kloot Per W also the works he makes together with the West-Flemish Julien. These works, together with new erotic work, will form part of the exhibition.

Kloot: “I experience this cooperation as calm, stress-free, everything comes naturally. Like a chameleon, I adapt to my environment. Rudy is such a sympathetic, honest and calm person that it also makes me calm. few words are wasted in this collaboration in order to achieve odd results. If you had to ask me this is only a modest start for more “.

Rudy: “In a collaboration you naturally make different music than when you work solo. In this case you feel two people lead to an imaginary third person.
I also think that the visual and the musical always show a close relationship. The end result also seems to me very Belgian “.

Live
Kloot: “The total package will reach its peak on Sunday 1 December in the MixArt gallery when we, together with Jan Hautekiet and Mauro Pawlowski, will improvise live music on the animation loops.  The music we are going to draw on and improvise around will be performed that same day by HeavenHotel and Jezus Factory Records are released on cassette. Great if everything clicks like this “.

Message
Kloot: L ‘Union fait la force.
Rudy: Do your own sentence wherever possible.
